Free & Fit Summer Camp - Tuesday July 9th 2019 - by Cody Buddnich

Short reflection from our recent summer camp in July 2019. Our Free & Fit Summer Camp member Cody Buddnich shares his reflections on our second day at Camp.

“It was Tuesday morning. Everyone arrived at the church (Harrington Park Community Church) to go to our first activity mini-golf. We arrived at the Closter mini-golf with people all around us hitting golf balls on the driving range as far as the eye can see.

Two full floors of people hitting golf balls to the end of the course. Despite all this activity all of us ran straight to the mini-golf course. All of the campers were ready to beat their partner in this game, that is surprisingly hard to win. So after Rishabh and Jonathan stopped playfully aiming at each other with sunscreen, we were off.

In the first round of mini-golf I won one game against Chris and then Jonathan tried to beat me, but he was soon dispathched. Later after mini-golf, we went to the church and talked about the value for that day. We all put up good examples for each value and shared our experiences.

Soon after we went to the local town pool for some refreshingly cool water and fun. We played categories in the deep end and I won (obviously). Afterwards, I was the referee for some time keeping the game in order.

After a little while, the deep end had two games of categories going at once. There was my group and the other group of girls. They asked if we could join games but my group yelled in my face to say no, so we lived with colliding into each others group. At four o’clock we started our fun game of cricket. My friend not from the camp came to play as well. We all had a good time at camp and cant wait until next year!”
