Free & Fit - Falling in Live with the Psalms - Wednesday 9th October Psalm 139
Falling in Live with the Psalms
Wednesday 9th October Psalm 139
Psalm 139 Memory Verse
“How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered! I can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! And when I wake up, you are still with me!”
Psalms 139:17-18 NLT
Psalm 139 in full:
Reflection:
When we seek things in our own strength it can become difficult, lonely and without support. When we slow down, pray and become obedient to Gods will we can overcome the problems we face in the world. Jesus Christ told us that we would face trouble, but that he has overcome the world.
“Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.”
Psalms 139:23 NLT
This means that in everyday life we will face trials, temptations and tribulations, but not alone if we face them head on and with God on our side. It’s difficult to ride a boat down the river in your own without an oar, a motor or a cox. It can be a lonely journey if we stick to our own self, deny others and God the opportunity to help us along the way.
“Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life.”
Psalms 139:24 NLT
As we approach an election season, a Halloween trick or treat and a change in temperature let’s not do it alone. Let’s get ready for the Winter together. Call your family and friends, pray for your City and dedicate your life again today to Jesus Christ again today
“You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed.”
Psalms 139:15-16 NLT
This Closing Prayer is adapted from the Dearly Beloved Wedding hymn.
Dear Lord I am your beloved.
All I have I share with you O Lord
All I am I give you O Lord
All things I will bear for you O Lord
With this solemn promise O Lord
With you O Lord two have become one.
I am your beloved O Lord.
Until all our lives are done.
in Jesus name.
Amen
“So it is good to wait quietly for salvation from the Lord.”
Lamentations 3:26 NLT
