Father God be with us today in all our endeavors, through work, through church, through sabbath and through whatever today brings for us. If we are mourning comfort us, if we are rejoicing humble us and if we are ambivalent stir us up O Lord for your Glory, your Kingdom and your names sake. In Jesus name. Amen

Prayer & Reflection
Reflection:
When the Methodist and Episcopal Churches began in America the Churches and congregations were formed originally by one or two Bishops who could ordain Pastors. In the Methodist Church it was Thomas Coke and Francis Asbury and in the Episcopal Church it was William White of Pennsylvania and Samuel Provoost of New York.
This was because it was difficult to transition the Bishops from the UK as the Church grew in the US. It meant it was not simple being able to build Churches, congregations and communities with Ministerial or Church leadership. This remains true today. Except there is not a shortage of Bishops, but a shortage of Pastors!
As we look at the Church we now see today it’s not only important that we explore new ways of ensuring we have sufficient leaders to appoint Pastors to congregations, but that we also have open and accessible members of the christian community who can answer for every inquisitive friend who has questions and seems to want to learn more about Jesus.
That’s where you and I come in. To be the Church to the unchurched we don’t necessarily need to be ordained by a Bishop, but we do need to be ready, willing and able to share the reason for the hope that we have in Jesus!
As we step out into our weekends let’s be prepared, ready and willing to share the Love of Jesus Christ with those whom we know and love. Also, lets be open to the random stranger who may want to know more about Jesus. Let us be a community of believers ready to serve Christ in every conversation in Jesus name. Amen
Let us Pray…
Father we thank you and Praise you today for all you do. That you are available, willing and able to help us to take heed of who you are and what you have done for us. Help us this day Lord to be who you are to those who don’t know you yet in Jesus name. Amen
“So it is good to wait quietly for salvation from the Lord.”
Lamentations 3:26 NLT
