Today’s verse is Isaiah 58:1-2!
“Shout with the voice of a trumpet blast. Shout aloud! Don’t be timid. Tell my people Israel of their sins! Yet they act so pious! They come to the Temple every day and seem delighted to learn all about me. They act like a righteous nation that would never abandon the laws of its God. They ask me to take action on their behalf, pretending they want to be near me.”

Prayer & Reflection: War in our World is rife across 110 countries. These appear to currently be across three main regions; according to the Geneva Academy there is over 45 armed conflicts in the Middle East and North Africa.
The Geneva Academy states, in numbers, this is the most affected area in our world. Currently, in the following territories: Cyprus, Egypt, Iraq, Israel, Libya, Morocco, Palestine, Syria, Turkey, Yemen and Western Sahara (Geneva Academy, 2025).
This is second to Africa where there are 35 non-international armed conflicts (Non-International Armed Conflicts) taking place in Burkina Faso, Cameroon, the Central African Republic (CAR), the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ethiopia, Mali, Mozambique, Nigeria, Senegal, Somalia, South Sudan and Sudan(Geneva Academy, 2025.)
Asia, perhaps the least popularized or cultural known in the West, is third with 19 armed non-international conflicts. In this region conflict is happening in Afghanistan, India, Myanmar, Pakistan and The Philippines. Two international armed conflicts – between respectively India and Pakistan, and between India and China – are also taking place in the region. Unknown to most of us in the West as we hear more about the Wars in the Middle East and Europe (Geneva Academy, 2025.)
It’s clear we all know about the Ukraine and Russia war, but perhaps what didn’t know about the other six wars going on in Europe. According to the Geneva Academy: “Russia is currently occupying Crimea (Ukraine), Transdniestria (Moldova), as well as South Ossetia and Abkhazia (Georgia), while Armenia is occupying parts of Nagorno Karabakh (Azerbaijan). Europe is also the theatre of two non-international armed conflicts (NIACs) in Ukraine opposing governmental forces with the self-proclaimed ‘People’s Republics’ of Donetsk and Luhansk in eastern Ukraine (Geneva Academy, 2025.)
Finally, close to us here in the United States, is the six NCIAS wars evenly split between Mexico and Columbia which the Geneva Academy deems non-international armed conflicts (Geneva Academy, 2025.). So what can we do? How can we respond? How can we as mere individuals, without access or influence make a difference? Simple! Praise, Pray and Devoutly Seek the Lord our God! Right now this weekend Gather 25 is happening and people across our world are doing exactly that!
Together we can petition Heaven, make deep declarations of prayers and hone in on Gods Promises of Salvations and His Sovereignty. Let’s not be silent, let’s not be without action and let’s pursue Heaven for Peace on Earth as it is in Heaven! Hallelujah Jesus!

Prayer for our World…
Father God we see over 110 conflicts in our world today and we seek for peace to come across all these lands. We pray particularly for the wars that are causing so many casualties and we pray for ceasefire, peace and preservation of life. Help us to not fight for power, land or control, but instead to unite us around the Cross and to die to self and live for Jesus Christ! Amen
