Psalm 122 Sunday 22nd September

Opening Prayer with Psalm 122

Based on a Sixth Century Benediction

Lord, give peace in our days,

for there is no other

who fights for us,

but you, our God.

May there be peace within your fortifications,

prosperity within your citadels. (Psalm 122:7)

Lord, give peace in our days,

for there is no other

who fights for us,

but you, our God.

For the sake of my brothers and my friends,

now I will say, “Peace be within you.” (Psalm 122:8)

Lord, give peace in our days,

for there is no other

who fights for us,

but you, our God.

For the sake of the house of the Lord our God,

I will seek good for you. (Psalm 122:9)

Lord, give peace in our days,

for there is no other

who fights for us,

but you, our God.

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem.

May those who love you prosper. (Psalm 122:6)

Lord, give peace in our days,

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit,

as it was in the beginning is now, and will be forever. Amen.

Prayer & Reflection

Persevering to break through. We must stand together to overcome the obstacles! Strength of the laborers, we maybe few, but we can be plentiful together. As inspired by Mother Theresa we can accomplish much together. “I can do great things, you can can do great things. Together we can do even greater things”.

We need to Recognize the prayer point, where are you right now? Are you in a season of Prayer? A season of Bible? A season of Worship? We must seek to Pray, Worship and read Gods word and work through our challenges together in community.

Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. 4 There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called ; 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism; 6 one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.

7 But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it

There maybe a threat and the accompanying of discouragement, but wait! Reach out, Try to get help and ensure thirst and hunger for righteousness! Faced challenge head on, posted a guard the Armor of God! We pray to our God. Station and stand together, not alone. Jesus came for us! Jesus calls us to stand together to be prepared! Where 2 or 3 gather in his name!

Remember God, the armor of God! Belt of truth! Don’t be afraid! In the midst of confusion, pray now God strengthen my hands! Together we can pray through the discouragement! Strengthen our prayers O Lord! “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.” Ephesians‬ ‭2:8-9‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Let us boast more greatly, with confidence, in the Lord boldly proclaiming the Lords favor upon our lives.

Alter Call & Decision Today

So put away all malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander. Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up into salvation— if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is good.

As you come to him, a living stone rejected by men but in the sight of God chosen and precious, you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. For it stands in Scripture:

“Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone,

a cornerstone chosen and precious,

and whoever believes in him will not be put to shame.”

So the honor is for you who believe, but for those who do not believe,

“The stone that the builders rejected

has become the cornerstone,”[a]

and

“A stone of stumbling,

and a rock of offense.”

They stumble because they disobey the word, as they were destined to do.

But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. 10 Once you were not a people, but now you are God's people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.

Beloved, I urge you as sojourners and exiles to abstain from the passions of the flesh, which wage war against your soul. Keep your conduct among the Gentiles honorable, so that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day of visitation.

“because if you acknowledge and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord [recognizing His power, authority, and majesty as God], and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart a person believes [in Christ as Savior] resulting in his justification [that is, being made righteous—being freed of the guilt of sin and made acceptable to God]; and with the mouth he acknowledges and confesses [his faith openly], resulting in and confirming [his] salvation.”

Closing Prayer A Prayer of St. Chrysostom

Almighty God, you have given us grace at this time with one accord to make our common supplication to you; and you have promised through your well-beloved Son that when two or three are gathered together in his Name you will be in the midst of them: Fulfill now, O Lord, our desires and petitions as may be best for us; granting us in this world knowledge of your truth, and in the age to come life everlasting. Amen.
