Thursday August 15th Psalm 15

“We give thanks and praise to You, O God, we give thanks, For Your [wonderful works declare that Your] name is near; People declare Your wonders. ¶But as for me, I will declare it and rejoice forever; I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.”

Opening Prayer

Father thank you that you are good and that you do good. Help us today to be inspired by your Holy Spirit to be Good News and to entrust your Message of Grace and Mercy to everyone we meet in Jesus name. Amen

Psalm 75 Reflection

What kind of example do you set when you leave the house? How well do you explain yourself and your faith when confronted with questions? The responses we give, the example we set and the behaviors or characteristics we share shape the people we become. Our encounters and examples with others influence those we witness to around us in our everyday life. Our words, our actions and our deeds matter. We are all called to be ambassadors of Christ Jesus our Lord.

“not Lording it over those assigned to your care [do not be arrogant or overbearing], but be examples [of Christian living] to the flock [set a pattern of integrity for your congregation].”

‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭5:3‬ ‭AMP‬‬

Peter calls us to “set a pattern of integrity for your congregation”. When we interact with those in our community whether in a ministry or Church setting, or even in a work or secular setting, we must share Gods love with those around us and refrain from casting judgement upon others. We must first and foremost pursue righteousness, so if we seek purity and identify with imperfect ness we will sooner or later identify the problems in our lives or the lives of other. The key is not to judge or cast blame on others in response, but to share the struggle, not eliminate the need for change and build towards getting better with God. Through prayer, petition and submission all are possible through Christ Jesus our Lord.

Today as we interact with those around us let us set an example of joy for those around us by making someone else a cup of tea, saying hello to a stranger or praying for a neighbour and bringing kindness into our world. Through sharing Gods love we can overcome all difficulty and be assured of our eternal life in heaven in Jesus name. Amen

Let us Pray…

Father thank you for today, for granting us air to breathe and to be alive today. Help us to step into what you are calling into and help us to identify your will for our lives and those we serve in Jesus name. Amen
