Summer with the Pslams
Friday 20th September Psalm 120

Opening Prayer
Father thank you for today please go before us, behind us and with us in Jesus name. Please transform our fears into a fearless testimony of sharing your love with others as you have shared with us in Jesus name. Amen

Prayer & Reflection
Let’s remember all our men and women who serve in the service based industries. To say thank you for working long hours, at difficult times of the year and remaining open whilst a lot of us are with family or friends and celebrating the holidays.
I remember from my eight years of working at Pizza Hut what it was like to work public holidays and not see family. So although perhaps they are not as heroic as our emergency services or local authorities they still offer to us services in times which are perhaps causing them to be separate from their families.
It seems almost too popular for us to be kind to them, to belittle them and forget that they also have families, are human beings and need a Lord and Saviour like we all do.
When Jesus came, he said he was the temple (John 2:19-22).
Ephesians says that we’ve become part of the temple too — that:
...you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord. In him you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit. (Ephesians 2:19-22)
Closing Prayer Let us Pray…
But what does it say? “The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart,” that is, the message concerning faith that we proclaim: If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.”
Romans 10:8-10 NIV
Prayer for Salvation
Lord Jesus, I confess my sins and ask for your forgiveness. Please come into my heart as my Lord and Savior. Take complete control of my life and help me to walk in Your footsteps daily by the power of the Holy Spirit. Thank you Lord for saving me and for answering my prayer. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
“So it is good to wait quietly for salvation from the Lord.”
Lamentations 3:26 NLT
