Biograpby with Scripture There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens - Ecclesiastes 3:1 NIV Matthew Henry commentates "Every change concerning us, with the time and season of it, is unalterably fixed and determined by a supreme power; and we must take things as they come, for it is not in our power to change what is appointed for us. Every purpose has its time."

Verse 2 continues, "a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance" Ecclesiastes 3:2‭-‬4 What this is saying is that, though there are good things in life, the bad things can't be escaped. So we're not to be surprised or angry at God when bad things happen. We just have to graciously accept the bad times with the good.

Ecclesiastes goes on to say that there is a time to break down and a time to build up. Are you breaking down what God is trying to build in your life by refusing to let go of what lies behind and press on to what lies ahead? Ecclesiastes also says that there is a time to gain and a time to lose. Are you trying to hold on to something God wants you to give up? We can't hold on to something that God wants us to let go of and move into the next season of blessings He has ordained for us.

SCRIPTURE: Psalm 31:15 My times are in Your hands - NIV You determine my destiny! - NET Bible Spurgeon said, "There is nothing left to chance. Events happen not to man by a fortune which has no order or purpose in it. There is no place for chance, since God fills all things." And Matthew Henry commentates, "It is a great support to those who have God for their God that their times are in his hand and he will be sure to order and dispose of them for the best. Our times (all events that concern us, and the timing of them) are at God's disposal; they are not in our own hands."
