Christmas - What does it all mean anyway? by Tim Cheux

Christmas - What does it all mean anyway? by Tim Cheux

Throughout my childhood I would look forward to writing my Christmas wish list and seek for Santa and His Reindeer to bring my desired gifts for being such a good boy. When I went to College and University I desired for more time,  more extensions to my deadlines and more flexibility in my schedule to accomplish my own personal goals. When I became an adult man I desired for more time with my friends, my family and more quality time with the people I love. Life is constant and at Christmas time we always seek to want more of something.

As we approach Christmas Day this year I contemplate the year that has passed including the loss of Matthew Perry, the coronation and crowning of our New King and the conflict between Israel and Palestine on top of the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine. In all these frantic changes, whether famous, whether the monarchy or the loss of peace in the Middle East we find ourselves all searching deep down inside for more, for more peace, for less conflict and more of what we were used to before all this change.

Now as we approach 2024 we become more and more aware of one another, who our Neighbour is and who we want to spend our next weekend with, where to travel to and to put our plans, our agendas and ideas on the map for the year ahead. Yet, before we get there I want to pause for a moment to remind you of the gift of who is available to you tomorrow. Who is available to you today and who will always be available for you throughout your life time.

Perhaps I can perceive that you know the identity of Jesus as being Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father and Prince of Peace. However, do you know Him as the Gaslighter? The one who started the Big Bang and approves of the concept of creation as one form or another as the creation of time?

Jesus is the creator of all time, he is the finisher, the perfector, the beginning and the end of all time. When an atheist or non religious person challenged my faith with Science I always assure them that the one who Saves, knows time, saves time and made time. In whatever unit of time you find yourself travelling Jesus will meet you there right on time. He is always on time, never early and never late. He is the same, yesterday, today and forever.

Jesus is Time. Jesus is Love and Jesus Loves Time with You! So today, on Christmas Eve why not allow time to stand still for a moment, so that you can acknowledge the creator of all

Time so that he can light a match in your life to overcome the darkness inside of you and set you free into eternal light of eternal life.

Let us allow God to take our time, to grant us His Son the opportunity to take over our government and become Lord and Savior of our Lives. Let us pray today for Jesus Christ to become the Light in our world.

A prayer for us all to say either silently in our hearts or aloud with me today…

But what does it say? “The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart,” that is, the message concerning faith that we proclaim: If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭10:8-10‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Prayer for Salvation

Lord Jesus, I confess my sins and ask for your forgiveness. Please come into my heart as my Lord and Savior. Take complete control of my life this Christmas and help me to walk in Your footsteps daily by the power of the Holy Spirit. Thank you Lord for saving me and for answering my prayer and being with in all time. Thank you Jesus. It is your name, in Jesus’ name, that as t we all pray surrender and confess that your are the Messiah and the Son of God. It is in Jesus name that we pray. Amen.

You can find out more about Christmas through the four part series we have complied through Advent this year. It is here where you may find some, not all, of your questions. If you are looking for answers we suggest Jesus is the Reason for the Season. If it’s questions you seek, we ask that you check out our videos on YouTube as we discuss some of our own questions. Our interviews with Elena, Roko, Nav and Rafo will be released over the twelve days of Christmas on the lead up to Epiphany. Again the Epiphany, we hope you experience an encounter with Jesus Christ and enter into His Rest this Christmas.
